FreeDBGrabber allows you to access the discographies of any band or artist you want. Just enter a band or artists name, click a button, and the band’s discography will be presented on the application’s interface. To do this, FreeDBGrabber uses freedb.org, a free CD and music database.

To get started with FreeDBGrabber you must first download a lightweight (less than 1MB in size) archive onto your PC. Extract the archive, run fdbsetup.exe, and you will be presented with a setup wizard that will guide you through the installation process. Just a few clicks later you will be done.

There are two search boxes in the upper right hand corner of the application’s interface: one for entering the artist's name and one for entering the album's name. Next to them there are three big buttons: launch the search process, access the options menu, and access the About dialog. After you initiate a search, the results will be displayed as a list on the main panel on the interface.

FreeDBGrabber’s functionality can be summed up like this: enter a band’s or an artist’s name and it will use freedb.org to show you the band’s or artist’s full discography. If you want to, you can save the search results to your hard drive.

You won’t have to part with your money to use FreeDBGrabber on your PC.

Check out any artist’s full discography by using FreeDBGrabber to get it from freedb.org.

Pros

Downloading and installing FreeDBGrabber will take little of your time. Even novices will quickly figure out the interface. Search by artist name or album. Arrange the search results by name/year/time/genre, search within the results, save the results onto your PC. This is a free application.

Cons

None that I could think of.
